Athletics Carnival

The annual Athletics Carnival was held at Olympic Park, Homebush on Friday 13th June, 2008. Despite warnings of showers, it remained a relatively dry day. The cool weather did not dampen the spirit of Cerdon’s finest athletes. There were some notable performances on the day, with fifteen records broken.
Congratulations to Jacqueline Fry from Year 11, who was able to break seven records in her age group including the: 17 years 100m Final, 200m Final, 100m Hurdles, 100m Open Final, High Jump, Shot Putt and Long Jump. This is an amazing achievement for an outstanding athlete. Perroton house were victorious on the day, having the largest number of participants which helped them to secure the lead. The final points tally for the day:

     1st    Perroton              764
     2nd  Colin                     598
     3rd   McOscar               465
     4th   Marcellin              438

It is important to make special mention of a number of people who helped make the Athletics carnival a success. Firstly, thank you to every staff member for their hard work and efficiency in running events and providing supervision at the Carnival. A special thank you also to the Year 9 and 10 Physical Activity and Sport students who willingly assisted staff members with the running of events on this day. Your efforts were appreciated by the staff you assisted and also by the participants.
