Music 1
Students are engaged and are assessed in the areas of performing, composition, musicology and aural skills. They study three topics in the Preliminary Course and elect their own study pattern in the HSC course.
Students elect their own instrument for performance and do not require any previous background in music. However, it is recommended that students receive private tuition in their own instrument. Instrument tuition is available through the school.
Music 2
A course designed for students who have studied Elective Music in Year 10 and/ or have well - developed musical skills.
Students will study the compulsory and elective topics through performances, annotated drafts of compositions, compositional activities, discussion of works heard, score analysis, summary of understanding of topics, evidence of research, and concept-based analysis of works studied.
Instrument lessons
Instrument tuition is available at the school through the services of private tutors. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to develop their skills on an instrument, giving them a solid foundation for elective music courses. Currently lessons are available on drums, guitar and flute. For more information please download the Instrument Tuition letter as shown below.
