Leadership and Growth is a key focus area for the 2007 - 2009 Strategic Plan. The following goals are being investigated:

Provide a variety of opportunities for development of leadership for all members of the Cerdon College community.

Foster a culture of leadership within the College. Promote and encourage active and inclusive participation by the whole school community in the College’s decision making process.
Student Leadership Opportunities Available
There are many opportunities for student leadership at Cerdon College.
From years 7-10 each class has a Class Captain, Vice-captain and Mission Promoter.
Students from Year 11 are elected as Class Prefects and as House Captains for each of the four Houses. Year 10 students are voted as House Vice-captains. School Leaders are elected from the Year11 cohort in Term 3 of every year and take over the leadership of the school once Year 12 goes to their HSC examinations. From 2010 the School Leadership team will be made up of the School Captain and four Vice-captains . Year 11 students wishing to apply for these positions, click on this link for further information.
The College’s Student Representative Council is a vary active group in the school. All class captains meet with the School Leadership team and staff representatives on a regular basis to debate issues and raise concerns. They have been instrumental in initiating change at a whole school level.
The College has a strong Peer Support program for Year 7 students. All Year 9 students are trained in leadership through the Peer Support Program with students being selected as Peer Support Leaders to work closely with the Year 7 students to help them settle into life at the College.
There is also a wide range of opportunities for leadership in sporting teams, debating teams, library monitors, St Vincent de Paul Society.
